Couder son for Louis Charles Auguste Couder 1789-1873 student of Jean Baptiste Regnault and Jacques Louis David at the Beaux Arts in Paris. It began at the Salon of 1814 with the death of General Moreau. He was elected to the Academy of Fine Arts in 1839.
These works are present in many museums, Angers, Arras, Beauvais, Brest, Fontainebleau, Grenoble La Rochelle, Paris Rennes, Versailles, Saint Petersburg (L’Ermitage).
