Original terracotta signed by JP Gourdon representing a character from North Africa wrapped in a half-bust wearing jewelry around his neck.
Craftsman, artist, Jean-Paul Gourdon, born in April 1956, is a very talented sculptor, recognized by his fathers as “best worker in France” in 1997 around the theme of the painted nativity scene. Since the age of 8 he has been working with clay by turning it, sculpting it, modeling it, molding it.
Trained as a potter, he very quickly moved towards the sculpture of santons, subjects from North Africa and animal works. His ceramics inspired by nature and the 18th century adorn the greatest tables of the great chef Alain Ducasse.
Since then, Jean-Paul Gourdon’s creations have been present in restaurants and art galleries throughout Europe.
